My friends tell me that I don’t update my blog often enough. Unfortunately, my life is just not that exciting.
However, I am about to embark on a new adventure… painting my house. I’m painting my kitchen, entry way, living room, and family room. There are probably other rooms that need painting, but I think four rooms is a substantial enough start for me. In honor of this new adventure, I am asking for any advice you may have for me. Also, feel free to comment with any funny painting stories. We love to laugh at others mishaps.
Wish me luck. I will post before and after pics as soon as the project ends.

Saturday was our annual BFF GNO. For those of you who don’t know what that means. My wonderful friends from elementary, jr high, high school, and life are called the BFF and a GNO means a Girls Night Out. In high school we used to have them monthly. But the Christmas one is always the biggest and best. This year was our 13th Christmas GNO. It is so fun to get together and pig out on junk food, and talk about what boys are cute (it’s pretty much been the same two boys since elementary school). Even though we are mostly all married, we still have eyes, right? We always end up laughing for hours!
Marty and Chris were soooo nice to let us invade their home, and not only that, they made us the most delicious meal. We are so lucky to have such great friends and parents.
I can’t wait till next year!

I love this time of year. Starting with Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday! This year we went to California for Thanksgiving with Phil’s family. It is always so much fun because he has a GINORMOUS family. And… there are TWO thanksgiving meals. Thanks to Kelly and Grandmama for opening their homes to us and doing all the dishes after the meals. And ofcourse thanks to Cheryl and Art for letting us stay with them.
I have been nesting like crazy at my house. I’ve been having so much fun with the Christmas decorations. Phil is a wonderful man and hung all the gorgous Christmas lights on the outside of our house. I must say, from the outside, it looks quite festive. We also listen to Christmas music round the clock, and had so much fun decorating our tree. This is our first Christmas since we’ve been married, and I just want everything to be perfect. All the beautiful and fun decorations make me so happy I’m thinking of leaving them up all year. I also have instigated our scripture reading to be done next to the Christmas tree, so I can spend as much time near it as possible.
Along with my nesting, I’ve become crafty. Me?! yes me. I made fall and winter crafts a few months ago. I made wooden letters that say JOY and FALL and a snowflake and a maple leaf. I don’t know what has gotten into me…. NO I’m not pregnant!

So funny thing. The moon, in all it’s lunarateral glory last night, erased this whole blog. Well, ok, that might not be exactly true, but it was really bright last night, which kept me up later than usual, which set my mind to wandering. That’s usually not a good thing, but this time it inspired a thought.
Let’s update the blog software!
And now, all should be enabled, and that means comments.
All I can say is, WooT!

Mimi decided to go as a person for Halloween. My wonderful mother-in-law sent us this cute doggy t-shirt. Mimi helped us answer the door and give candy to all the trick-or-treaters.

Good Thing I'm Cute
Mimi is getting so big. We took her to her first vet visit on Saturday, and she was so good. The Dr. also gave her a clean bill of health. Wahoo! She is the cutest thing ever!

Ok, I’m sorry but I have to brag for just a minute. In the last two weeks (not to mention that last two years) my husband has out done himself.
 We saw turtles! Yea! |
 A vision of tranquility |
 Sooo good! |
Hawaii! Yes, Phil took me to Maui, Hawaii for our belated honeymoon last week. It was fabulous! We both definitely needed a vacation and savored every minute of it. There was lots of laying on the beach and fruity frozen drinks. We also went snorkeling with sea turtles, saw waterfalls, and ate one of the best dinners of my life. It was sad to come back, but as it turns out it wasn’t so bad (see below).
 Contemplating her next move... |
Here's lookin' at you, kid! |
 The Happy Family! |
Puppy! My birthday happened to be a couple of days after we got back from Hawaii, so I wasn’t expecting much. When I got home from work, Phil had a surprise for me… A NEW PUPPY! She is a yellow lab and is only six weeks old. She looks just like my (other) dog Pooh Bear (who is 11 years old)! Because she is kind of a mini me of Pooh Bear, I decided to name her Mimi. I love her so much.
But I love my husband even more. Seriously people, isn’t he the best?
So, this is the inaugural post for the blog. Nothing fancy will be had. No champagne, no musical fanfare. Just a glance around the room surveying what all the cool people are up to and a confident first step in the direction of the in crowd.
